Company Description

Counterpointe Sustainable Real Estate (CounterpointeSRE) operates at the intersection of commercial real estate and energy industries, providing mortgage, C-PACE, and other energy financial products. As a portfolio company of MassMutual, CounterpointeSRE offers one-stop sustainable finance solutions to commercial real estate owners and operators providing C-PACE and mortgage bridge loans.

Role Description

The primary responsibilities includes working with developers, contractors, OEMs, and owners of commercial real estate properties to review requests to finance new construction or their planned energy or water conservation improvements or eligibility for our PACE financing Programs.

This position is not remote and is located in Stamford CT. Additional positions are available for bridge mortgage and C-PACE are based in Stamford CT, Los Angeles County, Texas and elsewhere in the U.S.

REQUIRED

Commercial construction loans and lending

Syndicated lending a plus

Rating agency experience or equivalent commercial real estate lending experience or real estate degree
• Work with developers, contractors, and owners on new construction or to develop energy efficiency or other sustainable/resiliency projects.
• Originate and determine credit and construction risks, review appraisal reports, property markets and direct underwriters or underwrite property cash flows to determine transaction strengths
• Evaluate financing opportunities and structure financing up to $500 million or more with financial modeling of cash flows and sizing of deals.
• Perform rigorous analysis of proposed transactions by reviewing statute and local laws, financial underwriting, sources of capital for the project, sponsor contributed equity, title, construction documents, and property valuations.
• Transaction management of complex commercial PACE financings, including negotiating terms and conditions with senior management.
• Help determine loan tranching and pricing models, risk assessments and portfolio analyses.
• Assist with commercial real estate-backed securitizations and all ESG reporting.
• May with property owners and developers to establish construction draw process, required reporting, and required back-up documentation submissions as well as work with engineers and internal teams to ensure compliance with transaction documents.
