The Sustainable Partnership is hiring a Civil Engineer for Renewable Energy in Chapel Hill, NC. The role involves overseeing site design and project management for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with large-scale solar projects. This is an in-office position, offering mentorship and opportunities to contribute to clean energy initiatives.

TSP is partnered with a marketing leading utility scale solar & BESS developer/IPP. We are working alongside a 300 person top US developer who are expanding their civil engineering team. The firm owns & operates over 4GW of solar and BESS projects with another 10GW currently in the pipeline. They have been voted as one of the top employers in their state in terms of company culture.
This developer/owner is looking to add an experienced renewables civil engineer to the team. You would be focused on overseeing site design, grading, erosion control, SWPPP plan etc., and you would also play a key role in the project management side, helping to shepherd projects through the pipeline.
Because this firm owns & operates around 60% of their projects for the entire life span, quality is paramount. You would be joining an extremely high performing team, and you would get to see your projects built & start to generate clean energy.
You will receive direct mentorship from individuals with over 20 years in renewable engineering. This is a huge chance to expand your renewable energy expertise.
Key Responsibilities Review the work of junior engineers & redline/edit where required.
Be a mentor to junior engineers, helping them overcome technical engineering challenges.
Act as a project engineer, helping to take these utility scale projects from site feasibility through to commissioning.
Requirements Undergraduate qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years’ experience in large civil engineering projects.
Some experience with large scale solar & BESS is highly desired.
PE license is highly desired.
This is an in-office role in Durham, NC. Applicants in Denver will also be considered.
