INTEC Energy Solutions seeks a Civil (Environmental) Design Engineer – Water Resources & Hydraulic based in Manila, Philippines. The role involves delivering high-quality hydraulic and water resources design for large-scale Solar Farm and BESS projects in Australia and New Zealand. Candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant experience, a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, and proficiency in various design software. International travel is required.

Civil (Environmental) Design Engineer – Water Resources & Hydraulic based in


Makati City, Manila Philippines.


The Civil Design Engineer – Water Resources & Hydraulic is responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and compliant hydraulic, hydrological, and water resources design packages for Solar Farm, BESS, and Substation projects in Australia and New Zealand, often in coastal and environmentally sensitive areas.


QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 8 years proven experience in civil and water resources design, within EPC or consultancy, with a track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects. Bachelor’s degree in Civil /Environmental Engineering (Master’s degree in Water resources and Hydraulics is preferred) Experience designing large-scale infrastructure projects (PV projects preferred) Competent in structural building codes/legislation in Australia and New Zealand Demonstrated ability to independently lead and deliver complex EPC projects from concept through detailed design and IFC stage. Proficient in TUFLOW (1D/2D), OptiSurface, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Navisworks, Revit or equivalent.


Confident in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) Ability to prepare quantity take-offs, material estimation, and preparation of bill of material list from drawings Experience building and maintaining strong customer relationships Able and willing to travel internationally (mainly between Australia & NZ) Collaborate with preconstruction and project controls teams to ensure technical design inputs are reflected accurately in schedules and risk plans. Familiar with project delivery frameworks (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2) as applied in design and preconstruction phases.


JOB DESCRIPTION
Design Engineering
Provide top-quality and accurate civil and hydraulic/water resources design expertise that meets INTEC and our clients’ requirements by delivering detailed designs for hydrology, drainage, flood management, earthworks, and associated civil works for large-scale Solar Farm, BESS, and Substation EPC projects by undertaking the following:


Key tasks: Prepare Preliminary Hydrological and Flooding Reports and conduct detailed hydrological and flooding analyses. Develop and deliver Flooding Impact Assessments and Reports in compliance with regulatory requirements. Perform 1D/2D hydraulic modelling using TUFLOW for site-specific flood risk assessments and mitigation planning.


Develop Drainage Design
Calculations and models for pre- and post-development conditions.


Deliver
Post-Operation Drainage Models to ensure long-term performance of site drainage systems. Design culverts, channels, stormwater detention/retention systems, and outlet structures.


Perform Earth Movement
Calculations, including cut/fill balance and grading assessments to optimize landform for drainage and constructability.


Apply
OptiSurface or equivalent tools to design efficient landform layouts for stormwater and surface runoff management.


Develop
Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans for the construction period to mitigate environmental impact.


Prepare Environmental Water Design
Reports to address coastal and site-specific hydrological conditions. Ensure compliance with environmental permitting, coastal zone management requirements, and best-practice water management standards. Provide hydraulic and water design inputs to broader civil design works, including site grading, access roads, cable trenches, and substation platforms.


Integrate hydraulic, hydrological, and environmental design with structural, geotechnical, and geomatics teams. Prepare comprehensive hydrological, hydraulic, drainage, and environmental reports, including models, calculations, and drawings. Ensure all designs are safe, cost-effective, environmentally sustainable, and compliant with Australian and New Zealand standards.


Financial management and reporting Responsible for ensuring that decisions are made within approved business unit budget and financial delegated authority.
