This is a unique opportunity for a start-up that is on a mission to revolutionise climate tech. They are building a cutting edge cloud-based solution and require a hands-on CTO to join their team helping to shape the future product road-map. They require someone who can drive technical leadership, architecture, and product strategy, while still being involved in coding, system design, and cloud infrastructure.

This position will fit a technology leader who thrives in both strategic decision-making and hands-on development.

An experienced lead software engineer looking to take the next step and drive the product roadmap.

Responsbilities:

- Lead the technology strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation.

- Stay hands-on with development (C#.NET, Python, cloud architecture) while mentoring a small software team.

- Take ownership of Product Management to translate business requirements into scalable, efficient solutions.

- Oversee cloud strategy (Azure, but cloud-agnostic approach) to optimise infrastructure, cost, and performance.

- Drive best practices in software development, DevOps, and security.

- Act as a key decision-maker in architecture, tech stack evolution, and product roadmap execution.

Skills & Experience:
• Strong hands-on expertise in C#.NET and Python, with experience in cloud-based architectures.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and scale distributed systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams while remaining hands-on with coding and architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Azure (or multi-cloud strategies).
• Strong product management mindset, with a track record of delivering customer-focused products.
• Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud security best practices.

Preferred/Beneficial Experience:
• Background in scientific or Geospatial, Data Engineering, or high-availability SaaS applications.
• Experience in startups or scaling tech companies.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology with commercial goals.
