SMEC is hiring a Chief - Railway Systems in Australia, seeking a candidate with a Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 25 years of experience, including 15 years in project management for large-scale metro projects. SMEC has opportunities in our Rail & Metro team for a Railway Systems Lead Expert to work on exciting projects in Asia.
Key Responsibility
• Manage and supervise all works related to the railway electrical system, including signalling, telecommunications, SCADA, OCC, substations, power distribution systems, overhead contact systems, AFC, PSD, PIS, TVS, ECS, Fire Protection Water and Drainage (FWD) system, Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment, etc.;
• Assure that the detailed design, specifications, standards and codes proposed by the DSI Contractors comply with the Employer’s Requirements and Contract documents;
• Play the key role for interface management, system integration, testing, commissioning, and trial run;
• Overall monitoring and supervising of the concerned contractor’s works,
supply on all aspects, including progress, work quality, invoice, interface,
etc.;
Key Requirements
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
• 25 years of professional experience out of which 15 years of experience in project management and supervision of international large-scale metro projects;
• Ideal candidate should have demonstrated work experience in the Underground Metro Project financed by multilateral or bilateral development partners/banks;
