IAP2 USA is seeking a ChemAction Outreach Specialist to support hazardous chemical reduction efforts in Washington State. The role involves leading public outreach, developing community engagement strategies, and collaborating with stakeholders. Position Overview
The Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction program within the Department of Ecology is seeking a ChemAction Outreach Specialist (Community Outreach and Environmental Education Specialist 3).

In this role you will support the reduction of hazardous chemicals in Washington State, build community relationships, and lead public outreach and engagement activities associated with hazardous chemical plans, rule making, legislative reports, and the Toxic Free Cosmetics Act implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead public outreach and engagement activities for hazardous chemical reduction efforts.

Incorporate environmental justice (EJ) and nondiscrimination laws and policies into hazardous chemical reduction work.

Develop and implement community engagement strategies and materials.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build community partnerships.

Support the development of hazardous chemical plans, rule making, and legislative reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public policy, or related field.

Experience in community outreach, environmental education, or public engagement.

Knowledge of environmental justice, nondiscrimination laws, and policy implementation.

Strong communication and facilitation skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Location and Salary
This position may be located in the Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA; the Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA; or the Eastern Region Office (ERO) in Spokane, WA. The location will be determined at hire. Upon a final assignment to the NWRO in Shoreline (King County), an additional 5% pay increase applies. Salary range: $50,088.00 - $67,380.00 annually.

Tele-work Options
Up to 90% tele-work schedule is eligible. Tele-work, flexible, and compressed schedules are available subject to position needs.
