Job Description
Los Rios Community College District is hiring a full-time Automotive Technology Assistant Professor (Alternative Fuels) in Sacramento, CA. The role involves teaching, assessing student outcomes, and participating in curriculum development. Candidates should demonstrate effective teaching strategies and a commitment to diversity and equity. The position requires collaboration with faculty and staff to support student success in an ASE certified Automotive Technology Program.
Position Summary
The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching
assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping
students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course
content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a
thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field;
continuing professional development; utilizing current technology
in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of
professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional
position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development
and review; serving on college committees and participating in
faculty governance including accreditation and student
co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as
assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and
responsibilities of a full-time faculty member.
American River College (ARC) is seeking a full-time, tenure track
faculty member in the Automotive Technology Program. The program is
an ASE Education Foundation certified program with special
requirements for faculty. If you have passion for teaching and

and experienced ASE Certified Automotive Technology Professor to
help prepare our students for life-changing careers. You will plan,
prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture
and/or laboratory formats, based on the approved curricula, and
assist in the resolution of student issues, when required.

Position Salary Information:
Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree,
upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional
occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers

Minimum Qualifications
• Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of
professional experience; OR an Associate degree and six
years of professional experience ; OR the equivalent*. All
degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by the
time of hire.
• All candidates must hold and maintain current ASE Master
Technician, L1, and G1 certification prior to employment, be able
to obtain BAR Emissions Trainer certification within one year of
employment, and have advanced training and experience in the repair
of alternative fuel, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
