What you will be doing in this role:

As a member of the Community Engagement team, the Associate Program Officer (APO) will further the work of the Community Benefit Giving Office (CBGO), which is designed to centralize all community giving for Cedars-Sinai and maximize its impact across Los Angeles.

The Associate Program Officer reports to the Associate Director (AD). The APO primarily supports the work of Cedars-Sinai's philanthropic Homelessness and Housing portfolio. Under the guidance of the AD, the APO facilitates Homelessness and Housing grant requests from intake to execution and learning. The Associate Program Officer garners input from relevant internal collaborators and assesses historical giving to generate recommendations, coordinates the application process, works with the AD to acquire grant approval, and facilitates ongoing progress reporting and learning. The APO ensures grant alignment with the Medical Center's mission, Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and the CBGO's overall strategies and goals. Primary duties include:
• Provide ongoing coordination and support for all aspects of Homelessness and Housing grant portfolio.
• Assist AD and relevant internal partners with the entire grant cycle, from exploratory conversations to application, review and approval, tracking of payment requirements and progress reporting, across the Homelessness and Housing portfolio and other initiatives as assigned.
• Represent Cedars-Sinai at external meetings including with peer funders, local systems partners, and grantees.
• Provide grant lifecycle support. This includes development of proposal guidelines, reporting, communication with grantees, coding and tagging of grant requests, and evaluation in partnership with the senior grants manager.
• Perform custom analysis as requested. This includes landscape assessments, field analysis and presentations for the Board of Directors and senior leadership.
• Facilitate hand-off of grants requests from senior leadership and/or departmental owners (Government Relations, Research Center for Health Equity, Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital, etc.)
• In conjunction with AD, update grant approval protocols to maintain institutional commitments while aligning with broader Cedars-Sinai priorities.
• Alongside AD, pilot and facilitate various exploratory grant efforts with new and existing internal and external partners to better leverage CBGO resources and increase collective impact of grantmaking through non-monetary expansion of relationships. Seeks out opportunities for employee volunteerism and workforce development programs within existing grant dockets.
• Provides Marketing and Communications with grant summaries, findings, and successes with the broader community.

Qualifications

Requirements:
• Minimum educational requirement for this position is a High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor's degree or two years of college education (AA degree) is preferred. Graduate degree in public health, public policy, or a related field a plus.
• A minimum of 4 years work-related or commensurate non-profit experience is required. Prior experience with grantmaking in the homelessness and housing sector preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce a plus
