POSITION SCOPE – This is an entry-level position suited to a person with 0-2 years of relevant experience looking to gain access to the exciting energy efficiency/green industry. The Associate position is an integral role in our pre-assessment, solutions design, solutions implementation, and measurement and verification process. Training and support will be provided to build skills quickly in this exciting, growing, global industry; however, it is expected that the right person will take initiative to go above and beyond to learn the business.

Specific attention to detail is a vital characteristic of the position as Associates are held accountable for providing reports and documentation at the various stages of the project from design through solution implementation and measurement and verification, tracking utility rebate applications, and for communication within the team and to clients when necessary. As an Associate, you will be responsible for:

collection and analysis of utility bills and consumption dataresponding to the team project managers and energy engineers’ requests for research and reportingsupporting the project and client needsTasks will include utility bill analysis, energy simulation modeling, utility rebate program analysis, ASHRAE Level I and II energy auditing, technology feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, building commissioning participation, report generation, energy efficiency research, and project development.




WHAT WE NEED

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sciences, or other relevant disciplinesHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot charts, mathematical functions, statistical functions, and regression analysisProficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPointUnderstanding of major building components including HVAC, lighting, and building control systemsBasic understanding of building construction and structural designAbility to identify and analyze energy savings opportunities and use Excel-based tools for generating cost and savings estimates for solutions in HVAC, lighting, building controls, and building envelopeAbility to read and analyze utility bills including an understanding of common rate structures, tariffs rates, and the ability to differentiate between ‘demand’ and ‘energy’ chargesStrong attention to detailAbility to work in team environment with minimal supervision


WHAT WE WANT

Familiarity with building energy modeling software (eQUEST, Trane TRACE 700, or other relevant modeling software)Understanding of commercial-scale renewable energy and CHP systems, supply-side energy procurement strategies, and demand responseFamiliarity with a wide variety of commercial energy efficiency rebate programs and rebate application processes


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Prepare assessment reports for commercial and light industrial facilities that outline key building operating metrics and operating proceduresAnalyze utility bills and organize energy information into usable charts and graphs in ExcelPrepare presentations and marketing materials that show analysis, solution recommendations, and cost and savings estimates in a compelling and concise mannerResearch new energy efficiency technologies, companies, and productsConduct payback analysis on energy savings measuresPresent analysis and solutions to multiple levels within client organizationsManage custom and prescriptive rebate application processPerform measurement and verification on solution performance including regression analysisManagement of large data setsTravel approximately 5-10% of the timeModifications to our existing Excel-based tools to suit new energy savings analysis needsPerform other duties as assigned


LOCATION– Remote (United States)

GreenGen operates internationally, requiring regular travel; however, GreenGen’s corporate headquarters is located in Bethesda, MD. This position does not require relocation to Bethesda. West Coast preferred.




TRAVEL – Travel to client locations within the US, and possibly South America, Caribbean, and UK will be required for this role up to 15% - 20% of the time
