Job Description

The Commonwealth of VA Careers is hiring an Assistant Director of Environmental Services in Virginia Beach, VA, with a salary range of $50,000-$55,000. The role involves supporting the Director in maintaining a clean and safe environment, supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health standards. Candidates should have knowledge of environmental services operations and safety regulations. This position is not remote.

Job Duties


Environmental Services Assistant supports the daily operations of the Director and department to ensure a clean, safe and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This position will assist in supervising housekeeping and laundry staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and helping implement departmental policies and procedures.


Minimum Qualifications


Knowledge of environmental services operations, including housekeeping and laundry procedures.
Understanding of infection control protocols and safety regulations. (ie: OSHA, CDC guidelines)
Knowledge with cleaning chemicals, equipment and proper usage.
Basic understanding of inventory control and supply management.
Knowledge of proper disposal methods including hazardous and biohazardous materials.
