Analyst – Private Equity

Their team is committed to driving operational improvements and creating long-term value for our portfolio companies. Our client is seeking a motivated and analytically sharp Private Equity Analyst with 1-3 years of experience to join their investment team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background within investment banking, private equity, transaction or deal advisory.
This role will be flexibly hybrid in the office, budgeted up to a base of $100,000 with additional bonus opportunities and potential carried interest. Private Equity Analyst Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive financial due diligence on potential investment targets
- Develop detailed financial models and investment recommendations
- Perform industry and market research to identify potential investment opportunities
- Assist in preparing investment committee materials and presentations
- Support portfolio company monitoring and performance analysis
- Collaborate with deal teams to evaluate potential acquisitions and strategic initiatives
- Analyze company financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections
- Assist in preparing investment memos and transaction documents
- Participate in management meetings and due diligence site visits Private Equity Analyst Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 1+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or private equity
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
- Proficiency in financial analysis and valuation techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Advanced Excel skills - Experience with financial modeling
- Familiarity with PowerPoint and presentation preparation
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Knowledge of valuation methodologies - Prior experience in Midwest-based private equity or investment firms
- Strong network in the Chicago business community
- Experience with add-on acquisition strategies
