Aircraft Structures Technician / Sheet Metal Worker Job Opportunity

This is a crucial role within the engineering team, focusing on the structural maintenance and modification of aircraft.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Carry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data, taking full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performed.
• Complete strip/removal of major structural aircraft equipment.
• Interpret technical manuals, technical drawings, and regulatory requirements.
• Installation of complex structural assemblies.
• Working to fine tolerances and high standards.
• Use sealants, various fasteners, bonding techniques as per technical standards.
• Maintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements:
• Completed an engineering apprenticeship - ideally in Aeronautical engineering or military equivalent.
• Ideally 2 years live aircraft sheet metal/structural experience.
• Previous aircraft production experience.
• Previous aircraft modification experience is advantageous.
• Excellent hand skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Eligible to work and live in the UK.
• Subject to UK security Vetting.
• Excellent knowledge of airframes.
• Reliability.
• Adaptability.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Training Requirements:
• Initial Human Factors; Continuation Training Human Factors.
• Initial SFAR phase 1&2; Continuation Training SFAR phase 1&2.
• Initial EWIS group 1&2; Continuation Training EWIS group 1&2.
• ETOPS.
• RVSM.
