Job Description

The State University of New York at Plattsburgh is seeking Adjunct Faculty for Environmental Science courses, including Environmental Planning and Ecology labs. Candidates must excel in teaching and demonstrate sensitivity to diversity. Some instructors may need to complete mandatory safety training. This position is not remote and is intended for on-campus teaching.
The Center for Earth and Environmental Science at SUNY Plattsburgh is seeking qualified individuals to teach courses in Environmental Science. Potential openings may include courses in Environmental Planning, general Ecology labs and Geographic Information Systems.

Successful candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching in an institution dedicated primarily to undergraduate education. They will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues, as SUNY Plattsburgh is committed to ensuring that its graduates are educated to succeed in an increasingly complex, multicultural, and interdependent world.

Some Adjunct Instructors assigned to laboratories, theaters, or studios (art, theater, science) must participate in mandatory safety training before they can begin work. Training sessions are provided by the College during the first week of each semester. No additional compensation is provided for attendance at the mandatory safety training sessions.
