WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an Electronics Technician to join our technological development team in the Advanced Observing System Research Unit, part of the Global Coastal Ocean Division (GOCO). The selected candidate will support the development, implementation and testing of technologies for oceanographic applications, working within an interdisciplinary team of specialists in electronics, telecommunications, oceanography, and marine ecology.

ROLE

The Electronics Technician will support the design, development and test of electronic systems for oceanographic applications. This includes the calibration of sensors and data acquisition systems, as well as the installation and maintenance of oceanographic instrumentation to support the implementation of national and international projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electronics Technician will support the Research Unit, to:
• Collaborate on the design and development of electronic circuits for oceanographic applications;
• Calibrate sensors and assist in the design of data acquisition systems;
• Conduct soldering tasks (both through-hole and SMD);
• Operate electrical measuring instruments and manage analog/digital electronics, power electronics, and optoelectronics;
• Support the installation and maintenance of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) in field operations.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or related fields.

Skills
• Problem-solving skills in engineering contexts.
• Initiative in electronic design and development.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.

Technical Knowledge
• Proven experience in the design and development of electronic circuits;
• Knowledge of electronic design software (e.g., Eagle AutoDesk, Altium) and programming environments (e.g., keil uVision, STMCube, Arduino);
• Experience in at least one programming language (Python, C++, or Arduino);

Additional Skills (desirable)
• Experience with embedded systems and renewable energy-based electrification.
• Familiarity with the installation and use of oceanographic instrumentation.

DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
• The Managers will be based in Civitavecchia CMCC office.
• Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience
• Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
• Flexible working time as per internal policies.
• Support during the immigration process, if needed.
