Job Description
Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist in Durham, NC to manage supplier onboarding, maintain the Approved Vendor List, and develop vendor scorecards. Responsibilities include sourcing new suppliers, supporting process improvements, and processing change orders. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with 2-3+ years of experience in sourcing or vendor management preferred. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three in-office days per week.

The Role
The Supply Chain Specialist supports the Solutions Supply Chain team by managing supplier onboarding and documentation, maintaining the Approved Vendor List (AVL), and developing vendor scorecards to monitor performance across cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and service. This role identifies gaps within the vendor base, sources and evaluates new suppliers, and partners with underperforming vendors on corrective action plans to drive improvement. Additional responsibilities include supporting process enhancements and standard operating procedures, processing change orders to ensure timely payment, maintaining credit limits to prevent business disruption, and serving as backup to Buyers during peak demand or absences. Success in this role requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and communicate with suppliers to obtain qualification and onboarding requirements, including documentation including AVL (Approved Vendor List) management on behalf of Solutions.
Identify gaps within the approved vendor base and proactively source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to fill capability or capacity needs.
Develop and implement vendor scorecard frameworks to measure supplier performance across key metrics such as cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and services.
Support process improvements and developing standard operating procedures within the Supply Chain team.
Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers.
Identify underperforming vendors and partner with them to create corrective action plans, track progress, and drive measurable improvement.
Complete required vendor documentation such as credit applications and other customer onboarding documentation.
Ensure the business has proper credit limits with vendors to avoid business disruption.
Process Change Orders to ensure the invoices are paid on time.
Serve as backup to the Buyer function for emergency requests, during peak season or when Buyers are on leave.
Special Projects
Qualifications
2-3+ years of sourcing, procurement, or vendor managementexperience required.
Renewable Energy experience is a plus.
Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Performs well within a dynamic, evolving environment, adjusting quickly to shifting priorities and unexpected challenges.
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with experience using ERP or procurement systems preferred.
Location
The location for this role is Durham, NC. Our team operates on a hybrid schedule, with an in-office schedule of three days per week.
