Job Description

PTS Advance is hiring an Environmental Technician in Plaquemine, LA. The role involves coordinating waste transportation, attending meetings, completing manifests, inspecting storage areas, and assisting with spill cleanup. Candidates need a high school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required. This position requires physical activity and the use of personal protective equipment in a chemical manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate transportation of waste containers and shipments of waste.

Attend project kickoff meetings tomunicate waste management requirements.

Complete waste manifests and manage shipping records.

Inspect waste storage areas and chemical warehouses.

Audit production unit waste storage logs.

Assist with waste characterization sampling including coordination with operations and laboratories.

Assist with any spill cleanup activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of 4 years' experience of manufacturing or related military experience.

Strong written and interpersonalmunication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

Forklift operator qualified or able to receive qualification.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Regularly required to push, pull, bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.

Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.

Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.

Use of PPE required in specific areas.
