Wind Turbine Technician – Southeast England

Maxwell Bond is hiring a Wind Turbine Technician in Southeast England. The role involves traveling to various onshore sites and may require overnight stays. Candidates should have a technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering, along with relevant experience in the renewable energy sector. Maxwell Bond are working with a company who are now growing at a rapid rate and are therefore offering this opportunity for an experienced Wind Turbine Technician to work onshore in Southeast England.

The role will involve travelling around the area to different sites and occasionally you may have to stay away.

Essential experience for a Wind Turbine Technician
• A relevant technical qualification in electrical, mechanical or renewable energy engineering.
• Proven experience in a similar technician role within renewable energy or wind energy industry.
• Demonstrate ability to supervise meetings/teams/projects with an organised and methodical approach.
• Experience in team building, motivating, and building employee satisfaction & development.
• Great spoken and written communication skills in English.
• A proven track record in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, with good solid evidence of fault finding and problem solving.
• You should be able to deliver your work to a high standard and in a professional manner in line with your experience.
• You should be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, regularly and in a professional manner with managers, clients and contractors as appropriate.
• Candidates are required to pass a RUK wind industry standard medical assessment to ensure they are fit and able to work at heights and perform the role of wind turbine technician.
• Be willing and able to travel on a regular basis, including nights away from home if required.
• Computer and tablet literate and able to use Microsoft Office- outlook etc.
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Full UK Driving Licence for travel to different wind turbine sites as required.
Desirable Certifications and Experience
• GWO Working at Height
• GWO Manual Handling
• GWO First Aid
• GWO Fire Awareness
• Experience working with the 225kW to 850kW range of wind turbines
• Wind Turbine Safety Rules training
• Competent with using access platforms
• Experience with problem solving
• Fault finding of HV switchgear
