About the position

The Wildlife Biodiversity Program Lead at the University of Alaska Anchorage is a full-time position focused on collecting and managing conservation data on rare and sensitive species in Alaska. Responsibilities
• Collect and maintain data on rare and sensitive wildlife species, including birds, mammals, and amphibians.

• Manage conservation data and build relationships with agency partners.

• Write grants, technical reports, and peer-reviewed papers.

• Present information to partners and the public.

• Manage core conservation datasets, including species range maps and occurrence records.

• Conduct fieldwork across Alaska, often in remote areas.

Requirements
• Master's degree in a relevant field.

• Two years of research experience at the postgraduate level or equivalent training and experience.

• Experience in developing and leading projects in conservation science.

• Experience managing conservation datasets and using GIS to manipulate vector data.

• Experience securing extramural funds and managing grants.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with landscape ecology.
