Web/Online Platform Designer and Developer (climate change resilience metrics, Caribbean)

Upwork is seeking an experienced Web/Online Platform Designer and Developer to create an interactive platform for tracking climate change resilience metrics in the Caribbean. The project involves designing a user-friendly interface for various stakeholders, incorporating features like a Scorecard, decision-making tools, and analytics. We are looking for an experienced Web Designer to design and develop an interactive online platform to track and assess climate change resilience metrics for a small island nation in the Caribbean. The interface will need to facilitate intuitive interaction with a scoring system (Scorecard) for projects and actions and display the relevant progress metrics. The interface should allow for a range of stakeholders, from investors to government institutions, to monitor and evaluate policy goals aimed at climate resilience in the Caribbean. The interface should also incorporate a decision-making tool to evaluate the potential impact of investment on the specified metrics.

This project will first require a preliminary model, which will then be approved based on feedback from stakeholders.

Key features:

-Content management system;

- Visual presentation of a Scorecard;

- Interactive database to consult/download Scorecard metrics/data;

- Interactive investment guidance/decision-making tool;

- Analytics tools to monitor and analyse platform usage and performance;

- Scalable, secure design that is compatible with a range of browsers;

- Ideally use open source software;

- Hand over to the client for their maintenance at the end of the consultancy;

- Usage guidance provided for both administrators and users.

Requirements:

- Degree in Communications or Web Design and Development

- Strong proficiency in the design and implementation of online platforms and data management solutions

- Multiple years of experience in the design and development of different types of websites (please supply links to examples)

- Strong creative and strategic thinking skills

- Demonstrable experience of design and development of online databases and online management solutions (preferably for institutional clients e.g. governments or international organizations)

- Excellent communication skills

- Proven track record of engaging with stakeholders (including government agencies and international organizations) is desirable

- Knowledge of the culture of Caribbean island countries and territories is desirable.
