About the position
The Water Resources Technician at Bolton & Menk will support project managers in various water and natural resource activities, contributing to community infrastructure solutions. This role involves fieldwork, research, and the development of educational materials, with a focus on sustainability and climate change initiatives. The technician will play a key role in ensuring safe and sustainable community environments through technical planning and engineering services.
Responsibilities
• Coordinates training and acts as technical host for online presentations
,
• Contributes to the creation of technical reports, manuals, and presentations
,
• Assists in research and collaborates with the Low Salt Team to develop and implement chloride reduction solutions
,
• Conducts fieldwork for water monitoring programs and aquatic invasive species studies
,
• May assist with new initiatives related to climate change, resiliency, and sustainability
,
• Conducts SWPPP inspections
,
• Prepares newsletter articles and documents for client MS4 permit compliance
,
• Assists the Natural Resources group with EAWs and other investigations
,
• Maintains confidentiality of company and client-related information
,
• Travels to facilities and other project-related locations as necessary
Requirements
• Associate's degree in biology, chemistry, geology, environmental science, or a closely related field, or high school diploma plus 2 years of water resources related experience
,
• Preferred experience in watershed or natural resources management, stormwater programs, and policies
,
• Preferred experience and/or knowledge of chlorides and chloride reduction strategies
,
• Ability to work well as a team member and independently
,
• Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
,
• Possesses a valid driver's license
