About the position

Bowers + Kubota (B+K) is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Hawaii. This role focuses on designing and managing stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater systems while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will emphasize sustainability and community impact in their projects.

Responsibilities
• Design and manage water resource systems, including stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater projects.

• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models to assess water resources and predict the impact of various factors on water systems.
,
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
,
• Collaborate with clients, other engineers, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.

• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
,
• Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and reports.

Requirements
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

• Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM.

• Knowledge of FEMA guidelines and experience with floodplain delineation studies.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
