Your Role – Making a Splash in Water Resources Engineering:
As a key member of our water resources team, you’ll be involved in diverse, high-profile projects that showcase your skills and push the boundaries of innovation. Responsibilities include:
• Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for public and private clients, including MMSD, MWRD, IDOT, IDNR, Illinois Tollway, WisDOT, and others.
• Evaluating and designing stormwater management systems, green infrastructure, and sustainable water solutions.
• Preparing technical reports like Hydraulic Reports, Stormwater Reports, and Green Infrastructure Memos.
• Developing contract documents, including construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Leading floodplain management tasks and ensuring regulatory compliance for complex water systems.
• Collaborating with roadway, municipal, and civil/site design teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Engaging in fieldwork to bring designs to life and address real-world challenges.
• Strengthening client relationships and enhancing M Squared Engineering’s reputation as a trusted industry leader.
Who You Are – A Rising Star in Water Resources Engineering:
We’re seeking talented engineers who are excited to contribute to impactful projects while growing their expertise. Minimum qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in water resources, including watercourse modeling, stormwater management, and transportation drainage design.
• Proficiency with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS; familiarity with SRH-2D, XPSWMM/EPA SWMM, or WinSLAMM is a bonus.
• Skilled in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/ORD.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
• PE licensure is preferred but not required.
• A passion for water resources and a desire to contribute to the field’s advancement.
