Job description

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join their office. This role is integral to advancing projects focused on green infrastructure, climate adaptation, urban flood resiliency, stormwater management, and stream and floodplain restoration within the Mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate will lead major engineering design initiatives, manage client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s commitment to innovative, sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities
• Provide technical and project management for large-scale engineering design projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, and drainage/conveyance system design.
• Act as a client service manager and project lead, ensuring the successful delivery of water resources projects across the Pittsburgh region and beyond.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater management, stream restoration, and flood mitigation projects.
• Develop detailed construction documents and specifications for stormwater management, urban flood resiliency, and stream restoration efforts.
• Support additional efforts, including research, operations and maintenance planning, asset management, regulatory compliance, and program development.
• Manage budgets and schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development activities.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience in urban green stormwater infrastructure, water/sewer linear infrastructure, wet weather planning/management, stream restoration, ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation planning, or similar disciplines, with an emphasis on design and planning.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to collaborate across disciplines and propose innovative solutions.
• Comfortable with a mix of office and fieldwork, including occasional regional travel.

Preferred Skills
• Experience integrating geospatial data and GIS into design workflows.
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D, particularly in pipe network and corridor modeling.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
