Job Description
Bowers + Kubota is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Honolulu, HI. The candidate will design and manage stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Responsibilities include developing hydrologic models, conducting impact assessments, and collaborating with project teams. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required, along with project management skills and knowledge of hydraulic modeling software. Salary ranges from $90,000 to $140,000 annually.

We are looking for a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Hawaii. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and managing stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects adhere to environmental regulations and standards, with a focus on sustainability and community impact.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Design and manage water resource systems, including stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater projects.
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models to assess water resources and predict the impact of various factors on water systems.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clients, other engineers, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
• Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM.
• Knowledge of FEMA guidelines and experience with floodplain delineation studies.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
LOCATION: Honolulu, HI
SALARY RANGE: $90,000 – $140,000 per year depending on experience
