About the position
The Water Conservation Program Manager at the Kansas Department of Agriculture is responsible for overseeing and implementing various programs related to soil and water conservation. This role involves managing allocations to conservation districts and NGOs, providing project support for federal grants, and coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies. Responsibilities
• Coordinate and oversee divisional programs related to soil and water conservation.

• Manage allocations to conservation districts and NGOs under the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program and Water Right Transition Program.
,
• Implement funding resources for Irrigation Technology, Soil Health, and Watershed Dam Construction/Rehabilitation programs.
,
• Provide direct project support for the High Plains Aquifer RCPP project and other federal grants.
,
• Guide county conservation district staff in implementing state-funded programs and coordinate with various agencies.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in natural resource management, agriculture, or a related field preferred.

• Experience with water resource and dam safety issues preferred.
,
• Knowledge of Kansas water law and water rights preferred.
,
• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
,
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Valid Class C (or higher) Kansas driver's license or equivalent.
Nice-to-haves
