Job Description
Essential Employment Ltd is hiring a Waste Management Operative in Rotherham at £12.65ph. Responsibilities include environmental cleansing, waste management, operating tools, assisting the public, and ensuring safety compliance. This is a full-time temporary position. Waste Management Operative needed in Rotherham, £12.65ph PAYE - Reference: 000A 03DA / 1
1. Carry out environmental cleansing, horticultural and grounds maintenance work for example emptying bins, removal of litter by hand or specialist cleansing equipment, removal of weed growth, handling and disposing of waste materials and drug litter, winter salting duties, chemical control, upkeep of verges and green spaces, utilising pedestrian or specialist grounds maintenance equipment, assisting with maintenance of shrubs and other plants, sports pitch maintenance erection / dismantling of sports posts and assisting with sports markings.
2. Operate, secure and check powered tools, plant and equipment, recognising and reporting defects and maintenance issues.
3. Ensure the security of vehicles, buildings and resources within own control, including carrying out vehicle checks.
4. Provide directions and general assistance to the public.
5. Report accident or damage to property, street defects, and assist on enviro-crime enforcement operations.
6. Assist with the delivery of campaigns, events and initiatives.
7. Direct trainees, seasonal employees or volunteers assisting.
8. Complete daily and weekly record sheets and forms.
9. Work at all times in accordance with safe systems of work , Health and safety guidelines, policies and procedures
10. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant timescales and standards
This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
