Job Description

ING is seeking a VP of Sustainable Finance in North Holland, Netherlands, to lead and innovate sustainable financial solutions across the EMEA region. The role involves managing deal teams, enhancing client relationships, and developing new sustainable finance products. Candidates should have 6-10 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset. A Master’s degree in Business/Finance is required, and fluency in English is essential.

As a result, new sectors are emerging and business models are developing that require creative financial solutions. Companies are looking for banks and investors, which will finance their transitions towards sustainability. ING receives high rankings in sustainability indices and is considered as a leader for its integrated approach of sustainable business. The Sustainable Finance team is growing and provides sustainable financing solutions to clients through its regional hubs in Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Paris, Milan, New York and Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and Sydney. To drive the business further we seek to extend our team by attracting a Sustainable Finance Vice President. We are looking for an entrepreneurial professional who would enjoy to further grow the business, who can support all product groups by structuring sustainable solutions and accelerate business potential across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities:

You will work on a variety of sustainable and transition products and new product development to shape the market further. You will have the following responsibilities:
• The right candidate is expected to competently lead deal teams on origination and execution of sustainable deals, with other deal team members and external deal participants to bring a transaction to a successful close
• Lead a sector and countries, elevate the number of transactions, further enhance the respective sector/ country strategies and come up with new ideas/ structures
• Create and manage relations with clients, experts, advisors and industry bodies
• Enhance internal and external profiling to put ING's sustainable business initiatives on the map for employees, clients, peers, and other stakeholders, incl. panels and webcasts
• Continue innovations in new sustainable finance products and structures to solve real issues and identify new growth markets

Profile:

Our new colleague is expected to be:
• Client focused: client engagement is the key priority in further strengthening the sustainability profile of our clients and driving the Sustainable Finance business
• a minimum of 6-10 years of experience in: (i) originating and executing transactions (in structured finance, debt capital markets, deal structuring) or (ii) in (ESG) advisory with sufficient active client-facing front-office experience
• Experience with sustainability-related transactions is a plus
• Analytical and with a creative mindset
• Entrepreneurial and able to drive the business in the EMEA region
• Able to mobilize the organization in a collaborative spirit
• A Master degree holder in Business/Finance or other relevant disciplines (additional sustainability related academic background is a pré)
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
