About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Underwriting for Commercial Solar Projects to lead the underwriting of our commercial solar project loans. This crucial role includes:
• Ensuring the safety and soundness of our solar loan portfolio through comprehensive credit and financial analyses.
• Building strong customer relationships and collaborating across teams to evaluate innovative solar project proposals.
• Managing the underwriting team and overseeing portfolio reviews, while effectively communicating risk assessments and recommendations.
• Presenting credit memoranda to the Executive Leadership Team and contributing to ongoing project compliance and performance reports.
• Identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies in alignment with industry trends and regulatory compliance.
• Leading special projects as needed and supporting the commercial lending team.
We require candidates to hold a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial credit analysis and underwriting, with at least 5 years focusing on solar or renewable energy transactions. Strong skills in financial analysis, management, and communication are essential. A proven track record in commercial solar lending and the ability to travel (approximately 25%) is also necessary.
