Job Description

The Vice President of Estimating Operations at IEA Management Services oversees the estimating process for the Mastec Renewables sector. Responsibilities include enhancing practices, mentoring staff, and improving efficiency. The role may be remote, but preference is for candidates near office locations. It requires significant travel (50%+) across the U.S. Candidates should have extensive experience in construction management and leadership.
Overview: Responsible for overseeing the entire estimating process within the Mastec Renewables sector. Collaborate closely with the VP of Business Development to refine current procedures, enhance consistency in practices, tools, and vision across the organization. Support the recruitment, coaching, and professional growth of estimating specialists. Act as a senior-level mentor for estimating endeavors across the sector, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while implementing process improvements that align with the growth of the Renewables sector.

Location & Travel: The role may be remote depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience, but preference will be given to those located near any of our office locations, including Indianapolis, IN, Fargo, ND, or Phoenix, AZ. Travel is expected to be 50% or more across various time zones in support of our business operations across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the overall estimating process for Mastec Renewables.
• Standardize collaboration processes with support departments, including Project Controls, Engineering, and Procurement.
• Coordinate with business leaders to secure revenue for Mastec Renewables' growth initiatives.
• Establish a systematic approach to collect and analyze historical project data.
• Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring estimating professionals throughout the organization.
• Maintain extensive knowledge and experience in Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems to maintain competitive market positioning.
• Collaborate with Business Development to support market strategies and project leads.
• Monitor current industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
• Communicate estimation efforts effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Travel to various project sites as necessary.

Qualifications:
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10-15 years of experience in large-scale commercial or industrial construction.
• Proven leadership experience managing large teams.

Skills and Abilities:
• Commitment to health and safety, adhering to Mastec's Zero Injury principles.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in computer applications relevant to the role.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
