FirstLight Power is seeking a Vice President, Canadian Operations for Renewable Energy, based remotely in Toronto or Montreal. The role involves overseeing plant operations across Canada, driving productivity, risk mitigation, and fostering a culture of excellence. The ideal candidate should have experience and a passion for clean energy, contributing to the company's mission of decarbonizing the electric grid and supporting renewable energy development.

We currently have an opening for an experienced Vice President, Canadian Operations, Renewable Energy for this remote role based in the Toronto or Montreal areas in Canada.
The Vice President, Canadian Operations reports to the Senior Vice President, Plant Operations and is responsible for leading all aspects of Plant Operations at our generating facilities across Canada while also supporting various leadership functions across the organization. The VP, Canadian Operations is a key member of the leadership team and is integral to key decision making and execution. The role will encompass a comprehensive view of the Canadian plant operations, aiming to enhance productivity, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Direct the activities of all senior managers and directors in their geographic area and maintain a positive employee relations climate for all employees through consistent application of all First Light programs;
Monitor the day-to-day operation, maintenance, fiscal, and administrative functions of each operating facility;
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and procedures.
Responsible for the oversight and direction of plant compliance with company policies and procedures, governmental regulations, annual operating plans, and good engineering practices at each facility;
Work with local governments, First Nations, non-governmental agencies, provincial, municipal and federal regulatory agencies to address issues and concerns relating to the operation and maintenance of facilities and their impact on the communities and adjacent landowners;
Prepare, review, negotiate, and approve business contracts to ensure the reliable and profitable operations of all First Light generation facilities. Optimize…
