This role involves planning, managing and optimizing bus routes, schedules, and operations to ensure efficient and reliable service for our passengers. Aspiring Candidates should have a strong background in transport planning, data analysis, and stakeholder management.Background:Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mandal Limited (NMPML) under Nashik Municipal Corporation aspires to connect ‘People to People - Destination to Destination’ through a robust public transportation infrastructure which will bring about a modal shift from the use of personal transport to public transport being sustainable, efficient, safe and state of art public transport infrastructure for the city. For implementation of the same, Palladium has been selected as the Programme Management Consultant.Roles & Responsibility:- Data Collection and Consolidation: Gather and integrate data from internal and external stakeholders to inform route planning and scheduling decisions.- Real-Time Data Analysis: Analyse real-time data from bus operations to support informed decision-making.- Operational Monitoring: Oversee daily bus operations to ensure orderly and efficient service.- Bus Stop Inventory Management: Maintain and develop a comprehensive bus stop inventory database, integrating GIS data with descriptive information.- Route and Service Optimization: Optimize existing routes and service plans based on market segmentation, passenger flow, and travel demand characteristics.- New Route Identification: Identify opportunities for new routes and services that meet the needs of diverse market segments and travel demand patterns.- Bus Assignment: Assign buses to routes and services efficiently, ensuring the right size and type of vehicles to maximize capacity and revenue.- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate new routes and service plans from various stakeholder perspectives, assessing performance across key parameters.- Periodic Review Process: Establish a structured process for periodic review of route and service plans, including guidelines for frequency and triggers.- Specialized Routes and Fares: Assist in creating specialized routes and fares for commuters during special events and disaster relief efforts.- Emergency Response Planning: Assist in developing and implementing effective emergency response plans.- Vendor Performance Review: Review and verify the performance of vendors as per their scope of work and payment terms specified in their respective contracts.- Contracted Bus Operator Management: Manage and monitor day-to-day operations and activities of the contracted bus operators.- Operational Support: Provide support to the CITILINC team in fulfilling responsibilities, including: On-time performance monitoring, Adherence to prescribed routes, Monitoring delays or missed trips as per the schedule, monitoring excess value-added services.- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of operators in accordance with relevant qualitative and quantitative standards defined in bus operator agreements.Qualifications:- Graduate with Experience in Transport Planning with Proven experience of a minimum of 3 Years in bus operations, route planning, or a related field.- Candidates with MBA/PGDM/M.Tech/ M. Plan will be preferred.- Report writing & Presentations- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis using MS Excel/ Tableau / Power BI- Experience with GIS and database management is preferable.- Experience as Consultant/Advisory in Urban Development, Transport, or any Government projects is preferable.Other Skills:- Stakeholder Coordination- Be conversant with relevant codes & standards- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
