Job Description

A Community Planning and Landscape Architecture Company in New Jersey seeks Urban/Project Planners at various experience levels. The role involves data collection, project management, and client relations to enhance community design and sustainability. Ideal candidates should possess or be pursuing NJ PP Licensure and AICP Certification, with strong communication skills and experience in planning. Our client, an award-winning Community Planning and Landscape Architecture firm, is seeking an Urban Planner or Project Planner to join their dynamic team. They are also open to considering a Planner in the process of obtaining NJPP licensure.

• Redevelopment Planning
• Master Plans
• Streetscapes & Urban Design
• Municipal Consulting, Development Plan Review & Inspection
• Park & Regional Trail Design
• Residential & Commercial Site Planning & Redevelopment Design
• Grant Writing

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
• NJ PP Licensure and AICP Certification (or actively pursuing)
• Passion for improving built environments and fostering sustainability
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Experience with Affordable Housing (preferred but not required)
• Ability to manage projects and clients independently
• Comfortable presenting reports to municipal officials, staff, and the public
• Knowledge of planning principles, research methods, and data analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct data collection, research, and analysis to support planning initiatives
• Manage and collaborate on planning projects for New Jersey municipal clients
• Draft zoning ordinances, redevelopment analyses, and redevelopment plans
• Develop competitive proposals and project budgets
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Represent the firm at evening municipal meetings
• Present reports to officials, staff, and the public
