About the Position

Western Washington University is seeking an experienced faculty member to join the Urban and Environmental Planning & Policy Department. This is a teaching-focused position that involves instructing undergraduate students in urban planning, design, sustainability, and environmental/natural resource policy courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, research, or service within the planning and public policy professions.

Key Responsibilities
• Teach courses related to urban planning, design, sustainability, and environmental/natural resource policy
• Develop and implement course curriculum
• Advise students on academic and professional matters
• Participate in departmental service activities such as committee work and mentoring of junior faculty members
• Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in planning and policy fields

Qualifications
• Master's or Doctorate degree in a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience)
• Evidence of community designs, models, exhibitions, community service learning, and other applied works
• Demonstrated abilities in planning and policy history, methods, applications, and theory, and related planning and policy fields
• Experience with experiential and critical pedagogies suitable to classroom and/or field settings
