Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) is currently searching for a highly-motivated, passionate and energetic Urban Planner to join the Urban Planning and Design Group in Tulsa, OK or Oklahoma City, OK. The ideal candidate would strengthen capabilities in hazards and resilience planning, comprehensive planning, small area planning such as downtown revitalization plans and corridor plans, and/or development codes. Hybrid skillsets, such as planning combined with landscape architecture or hazards/disaster recovery & mitigation, are encouraged. Projects are active in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. The position offers an opportunity to advance community planning and design, providing innovative and sustainable solutions that respond to community vision and capabilities. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team including urban planners, designers, landscape architects, and engineers. Responsibilities include managing urban planning and design projects, producing reports and visual documents, managing project timelines and quality, traveling as needed, facilitating public involvement meetings, representing the company at events, and developing land use plans for various geographies. Qualifications include 2+ years of urban planning-related experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design programs, database management, GIS, experience in cross-sector planning and project management, and AICP certification.
