Location: Locke St N neighbourhood, Hamilton, Ontario
Backyard Harvest is an urban farm made of many parts mainly situated in the Locke St N neighbourhood of Hamilton, ON. We use organic and biodynamic methods to grow vegetables for local consumption.
We are seeking two full time field workers, one April to October and one early May to end of August 2025, 8-5 Monday-Friday. You will be involved in all aspects of growing healthy vegetables including transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, packing and delivering vegetables.
Applicants should be physically fit (able to lift 40 lbs, squat, kneel, bend, etc.) and be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. We use bicycles regularly in urban farming so ability to ride a bike is required. Previous farming or plant work experience is highly preferred however if you are a hard worker, keen to learn vegetable farming, and feel you are a good fit please apply.
Other requirements:
• Work well as a team member and independently
• Have dependable transportation to get to work on time
• Be able to commit to staying for the duration of the position
• Have strong attention to detail and be able to complete repetitive tasks
• Provide your own comfortable and effective work gear for all seasons and weather
• Be a kind human being – Bonus points if you love vegetables!

We pay above minimum wage; compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level.
