Position OverviewAE Works is seeking an Urban Designer / Site Planner with expertise in site and urban planning to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on developing innovative and functional site layouts for a wide range of projects while ensuring regulatory compliance, sustainability, and alignment with client goals.
Location: Sewickley, PA with occasional travel.
Responsibilities
• Site Design & Analysis: Develop site plans for diverse projects, integrating land use, zoning, environmental considerations, and client requirements. Conduct site analyses, including feasibility studies, zoning reviews, and environmental assessments.
• Master Plan Development: Develop and execute master plans for diverse projects, including educational and healthcare campuses, urban developments, and government installations.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align site planning strategies with broader project goals.
• Documentation & Communication: Prepare planning documents, presentations, and visual materials to effectively communicate site concepts to clients and stakeholders. Provide regular updates to project teams and clients on planning progress and challenges.
• Regulations & Trends: Stay current on zoning regulations, planning codes, and emerging trends to inform and enhance project strategies.
• Opportunity Development & Client Engagement: Participate in interviews and presentations to support new business opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
Qualifications
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in site and urban planning.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or related field.
• Skills: Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and planning tools. Strong knowledge of zoning codes, environmental regulations, and sustainable planning principles. Adept in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud use.
• Attributes: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
