Gensler is seeking an Urban Designer for its Cities + Urban Design practice in Chicago. The role requires 1-5 years of experience in urban planning and design, proficiency in GIS, Autocad, and Revit, and strong communication skills. Key responsibilities include preparing planning documents and developing presentations for clients and stakeholders. A Master's degree in a related field is required, along with organizational skills and a focus on equity and diversity.
Gensler, the world's largest architecture, design and planning firm, seeks an Urban Designer to join its Cities + Urban Design practice area in Chicago. This role involves delivering performance-focused design strategy and planning services to various organizations and institutions.
Your Role

This position requires a background in urban planning and design, with 1-5 years of project experience in large-scale master planning. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Autocad, Revit and other design tools is preferred. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare planning documents, including master plans, diagrams, renderings, design standards and other planning studies
• Develop presentations for clients, community stakeholders, and public agencies
Requirements
• Master's degree in City/Regional Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Design or a closely related field
• 1-5 years of experience in urban planning, design and/or strategy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent written, verbal and graphic communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign)
• Proficiency in GIS and Mapping tools
• BASIC SKILLS IN AUTO CAD AND/OR REVIT
• BASIC SKILLS IN SKETCH UP AND OTHER 3D AND MULTI-MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES
