Job Description

The Climate Council is seeking a Trusts and Foundations Manager for a 14-month fixed-term role based in Melbourne or Sydney, with flexible working arrangements. The role involves securing and managing funding from trusts and foundations, crafting grant proposals, and building donor relationships. Ideal candidates will have experience in grant writing and fundraising, particularly in the environmental sector, and should be strong team players committed to the Council's mission.

The Climate Council is seeking a skilled Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our team on a 14-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Community and Fundraising, you will craft compelling grant proposals, ensure reporting requirements are met, and cultivate strong donor relationships to build long-term philanthropic partnerships.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the environmental sector and a strong understanding of philanthropy.We are wanting a strong team player who can hit the ground running within our small relationships fundraising team.

We offer flexibility, with the option to work 0.8FTE or 1FTE, based in our Melbourne or Sydney office.

As a Trusts and Foundations Manager at the Climate Council you will:
• Have proven experience in leading efforts in grant research and writing, donor relationship management, and impact reporting.
• Be able to effectively communicate both in written and verbal formats, with proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience in guiding key internal stakeholders to develop and submit high quality funding applications, donor reports, and acquittals.
• Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships both internally and externally to support the success of the Climate Council.
• Be able to demonstrate that you can effectively conduct advanced research to gather insights on prospects and relevant background information for key meetingsConduct advanced research to gather insights on prospects and relevant background information from meetings and events.
• Design and implement a targeted fundraising and stewardship strategy for a key portfolio of trusts and foundations, adhering to best-practice relationship fundraising principles
• Be a team player, willing to jump in and support within the fundraising space as needed.
