Job Description
Garbage to Garden is seeking a non-CDL Truck Driver in Boston, MA, to collect food scraps from households and businesses. The role involves operating vehicles, performing inspections, and completing assigned routes safely and efficiently. Candidates should be hardworking, adaptable, and committed to service and conservation. Qualifications include being at least 21 years old, having a valid MA class D license, and a clean motor vehicle record.
We are looking for hardworking professional drivers to join our team and grow with us to collect food scraps from the growing number of households and businesses composting with us!
Drivers will be trained on independent collection routes in the Greater Boston area and will work closely with Garbage to Garden to scale this program as it grows.
The right candidate is someone who is ready to start early each day, work hard and fast and take pride in their daily accomplishments knowing they left the world a little better off than when they started.

Responsibilities:
• Operates vehicles and performs all tasks in accordance with company standards and safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, as well as all local, state and federal laws.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents utilizing the DVIR.
• Completes route assignments as directed in a safe and efficient manner, seeing through to completion despite potential obstacles.
• Performs all duties as scheduled by Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed
• Communicates to Dispatch regarding customer requests, contamination problems or other issues with accounts, additional unidentified buckets, and anything else out of the ordinary.
• Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs and meetings as required Works closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Communicates prompt and accurate information related to customer requests, service interruptions, accidents, incidents, or unsafe situations.
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States
• Current MA class D license
• A motor vehicle record (MVR) that has no violations, accidents, or convictions for at least the past three years
• Experience operating a vehicle requiring CDL / a valid Class A or B CDL is a plus!
• Capable motor coordination; arm, hand, legs.
• Ability to repeatedly bend, twist, lift, throw, push, pull and exert physical effort in handling objects more than 75 lbs
• Comfort working in a variety of climates and environmental conditions
• Familiarity with Android operating system and Google maps.
• Must be fluent in English
• Strong verbal communication and time management skills
• Customer service mindset

Pay: $25.00 - $49.66 per hour
