Job Description
Enfield Council seeks a Tree Planting Officer to lead tree planting initiatives in the borough. The role requires experience in tree planting, project management, and collaboration with stakeholders. Who You Are
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Tree Planting Officer to join our Arboricultural team. The ideal candidate has a passion for the environment and is committed to making a difference in the community. You should have experience in tree planting and species choice, as well as the ability to manage projects from inception to completion. You should also be a strong communicator who can work collaboratively with partners and volunteers, and willing to work both in an office and on site.
What the Job Involves
The Tree Planting Officer will lead the organization and implementation of tree planting programs across the borough. You will work closely with the Principal Arboricultural Officer and external contractors to ensure the planting and aftercare of trees on corporate land, including highways, parks, and farms. You will source funding, prepare design plans, supervise contractors, and provide technical expertise on various Arboricultural projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with arboricultural best practices and legal requirements, as well as responding to public queries and complaints.
Skills
• Strong knowledge of tree planting and species choice
• Experience in project management and asset management
• Ability to source and manage grant funding
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills
• Experience liaising with public and stakeholders
• Technical qualification in arboricultural management
• Ability to travel independently to various sites
• Commitment to health and safety regulations and practices
