Wright Canada Holdings is hiring Tree Planters for the 2025 season in Prince George, BC, from mid-April to mid-August. The role involves physically demanding work in remote areas, planting seedlings, and maintaining safety protocols. Compensation is based on the number of trees planted. Candidates should be physically fit, adaptable, and willing to work in all weather conditions. Training and mentorship will be provided throughout the season.

Wright Canada Holdings Ltd., operating as the Spectrum Resource Group, is seeking Tree Planters for the 2025 season (50 + days) beginning mid-April through to mid-August. We have millions of seedlings to plant! Tree planting is one of the toughest physical jobs on the continent and consists of long days performing hard labour often in inclement weather, reforesting clearcuts and in the most remote areas of northern British Columbia. The compensation is paid per tree planted and directly correlates to how hard you work and ultimately how many trees you plant. The shift schedule is a 3 days on, 1 day off rotation. Employees can expect training and mentorship from crew leaders and supervisors throughout the season. We maintain a proactive approach to safety and injury prevention with camp first aid attendants and training from industry leading physiotherapists on injury prevention and management techniques.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
• Planting seedling trees.
• Seedling handling and care.
• Planting location selection.
• Tree quality and spacing inspection.
• Accurately record and document the number of trees planted.
• Load boxes, move equipment and assist in set up or take down of camp infrastructure.
• Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright Canada Holdings Ltd.’s culture of safety.
• Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Be physically fit for a demanding role with the ability to carry 50+ pounds.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
• A good work ethic, a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
• Commitment to Spring and Summer plant (mid-May to mid-August, April planting is optional)
• Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License, or equivalent, and/or a B.C. Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification or equivalent.
• Map reading skills.
• The ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
• Preparation for work in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to work, enjoy and live in a remote setting.
• English language proficiency (read, write, oral comprehension).

2025 Spectrum Per Tree Compensation Structure

Spectrum’s compensation is competitive with other tree planting companies. Companies in the industry at times advertise gross pay per tree, we pay a per tree rate and add statutory holiday pay and vacation pay in addition to the quoted per tree rate The per tree rate varies based on the contract. Here are some examples of how our pay structure looks.

• Gross pay is before taxes and other statutory deductions, camp fees and special worksite allowances.

Spectrum’s tree planting camps are remote bush camps. Spectrum tree planting camps have a kitchen with meals provided, dining tents, bathrooms, shower facilities, first aid rooms, drinking water and Starlink internet access.

Tree planters are responsible for bringing their own sleeping accommodation (e.g. tent, trailer), personal items including clothing, footwear, and toiletries. Planting equipment will be available for purchase.
