Transportation Surveyor

Caltrans is hiring a Transportation Surveyor in Fresno, CA. The role involves supervising field survey crews and performing various professional land surveying tasks. Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of a Senior Transportation Surveyor or Transportation Surveyor Party Chief, as a member of a field survey crew or in an office setting performing a wide variety of professional land surveying tasks. The incumbent may function as a lead person over the activities of various surveying and technical personnel in the field. A licensed Transportation Surveyor, will be in "responsible charge" of their work as defined in the Land Surveyors' Act, and may be called upon to act as a lead person in "responsible charge" of the technical work of other rank and file employees. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Transportation Surveyor exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
