Transportation Driver

United Community Health Center is hiring a Transportation Driver in Green Valley, AZ. Responsibilities include ensuring safe and timely patient transport, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and keeping accurate records. The role requires reading maps, assisting passengers, and coordinating vehicle maintenance. Candidates must have a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time position with no remote work option.
Description:

Position Summary: To ensure that the transportation of patients is done in a timely, efficient and safe manner. This will be done through efficiently utilization of vehicles, reading and interpreting maps and driving directions; and interfacing with staff from all departments. Developing patient/ customer relationships; maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage; as well as performing a variety of other functions that support both Facilities and Transportation departments.

Essential Functions
• Keep sufficient daily schedules that meet program needs and vehicle schedules are met.
• Reads and interprets maps and driving direction if necessary to assist driver in planning the most efficient route.
• Assists passengers, including handicapped, in and out of the vehicle; operates ramps, lifts and secures devices as needed and presents a safety briefing to passengers prior to each trip.
• Serves as a positive role model while providing transportation service by establishing effective professional relationships with patients, co-workers
• Keeps vehicle (s) clean inside and outside and fueled.
• Maintaining accurate records on customer trips, vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage; and performing a variety of other functions that support transportation and development.
• Reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records as requested.
• Transports various materials such as pharmaceuticals, mail, moneybags, and other appointed material
• Coordinated the schedule for major or periodic maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions.
• Participates in in-service /education regarding Quality Improvement
• Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Attends and participates in mandatory in-service and staff meetings and participates in voluntary in-service or outside trainings and staff meetings as appropriate.
• Must possess a current State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint clearance card.
• All other duties as assigned.
• PASS certified
• Defensive driving certified
• Behavioral Health and First Aid certified
• CPR

Qualifications/Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of State and Federal Transit Administration, US Department of Transportation, Federal Drug and Alcohol, State Driver hours of service, State local and other transportation regulations; safe driving practices and procedures
• Read and interpret road signs in English
• Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance (for incumbents assigned to multiple work sites)
