Job Description
TransGrid is hiring a Transmission Lines Technician - Grade 1 in Tamworth, NSW. The role involves developing and maintaining transmission line assets, ensuring safety, and mentoring apprentices. Candidates need a Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems, relevant experience, and a driver's license. Benefits include competitive salary, superannuation, and corporate discounts. The Opportunity
As a Transmission Lines Technician (Linesman / Linesperson) at Tamworth, you will develop, maintain and provide practical and technical expertise in transmission line work.
This will include inspection, maintenance, repairs and construction of transmission line assets within Transgrid’s transmission network and to deliver all elements of these tasks as required to meet customer expectations.
You will ensure safe and effective work and support the development and mentoring of apprentices and junior technicians, providing performance feedback for their growth.
About you
• Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems – Transmission and or Distribution Overhead
• Transmission and or Distribution line trade experience and ability to interpret schematics
• Allocation to a standby roster to provide afterhours standby services and respond to system incidents
• Prepared to work away from their nominated headquarters for periods of time
• Understanding of the inspection, maintenance and construction requirements associated with Transgrid’s transmission line infrastructure
• A current Australian Driver’s License
