Ameresco is seeking a Trainer for its Commercial Solar O&M Technician Program in Westborough, MA. Ameresco is looking for a Trainer for the O&M Group that will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs for Commercial Solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technicians. This role ensures technicians are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and certifications required to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks safely and effectively. The Trainer will design, implement, and evaluate training modules covering software applications, electrical safety, site-specific procedures, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Program Development & Delivery
• Conduct training sessions based on the approved curriculum, including classroom, virtual, and on-site components.
• Develop instructional materials, presentations, and assessments aligned with program objectives.
• Ensure training content reflects current industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
Training Topics Include:
• Introduction & Safety Philosophy
• Software Applications for O&M Operations
• Maintenance Planner, Workday, and Concur usage for scheduling, timekeeping, and expense reporting
• Electrical Safety Training (eSafety)
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, Arc Flash awareness, and emergency response
• Commercial PV Electrical Topography & Schematics
• Understanding electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, and key components
• Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)
• Monitoring principles, interpreting outputs, and troubleshooting
• On-Site Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting
• Hands-on training at Middletown D Solar Project for PM and corrective maintenance workflows
• Field Best Practices
• Communication, documentation standards, time management, and client interaction
• Assessment & Certification
• Administer knowledge checks, practical assessments, and certify program completion
• Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3-5 years in solar PV operations, maintenance, or technical training.
• OSHA 30 Hour Certification
• NABCEP PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist
Additional Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of commercial solar systems, electrical safety, and troubleshooting practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Maintenance Planner, Workday, and Concur.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and DAS data.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Technical expertise in solar PV systems.
• Safety-first mindset.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners.
• Adaptability to varied learning environments.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $$92,000 - $134,000 per year (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.
Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
