This role is designed for technicians who bring strong technical capability, lead by example in the field, and want to be part of a team known for disciplined execution, safety leadership, and professional growth across utility-scale wind projects. This is a 100% travel position supporting maintenance, repair, and installation scopes across multiple turbine platforms. Level 3 technicians at SCR play a critical role in execution quality, mentoring junior technicians, and representing our team directly with customers on site.What You’ll DoPerform intermediate and advanced wind turbine maintenance and installation tasks, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical scopesOperate and maintain a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment, including hydraulic systems, calibration tools, power tools, and turbine-specific equipmentLead by example on safety, proactively identifying risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and reinforcing a no-compromise safety cultureTroubleshoot and diagnose turbine systems using structured problem‑solving methods and diagnostic toolsExecute work independently while adhering to defined maintenance schedules, procedures, and customer requirementsSupport quality control activities and assist with audits or verification of work performed by less experienced techniciansMentor and support junior technicians, contributing to skills development and strong crew performanceInterface professionally with customers on site, addressing routine questions and escalating complex issues as appropriateComplete technical reports, documentation, and required system entries accurately and on timePerform rescue operations and support emergency response activities as requiredWhat Sets This Role ApartLeadership expectation : This is not a heads‑down role. Level 3 technicians are trusted field leadersProject variety: Exposure to multiple turbine platforms and scopes across North AmericaStructured execution: Organized planning, defined processes, and clear communicationLong‑term value: Opportunities to grow into lead, specialist, or training roles as the business scalesQualifications & ExperienceMinimum three (3) years of technical wind industry experience and completion of a Wind Technician training program, OR three (3) years of hands‑on experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical industrial environmentsAdvanced troubleshooting capability with the ability to interpret schematics and train othersDemonstrated proficiency with complex tools such as hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, and advanced diagnostic equipmentStrong working knowledge of industrial safety practices, including energy isolation and risk mitigationAbility to collaborate effectively across crews, support change initiatives, and follow structured supervisionBasic computer skills, including navigation of web-based systems and technical documentationAbility to read, write, and communicate clearly in EnglishPhysical & Travel RequirementsAbility to travel 100% and work overtime, including variable schedules, as project demands requireAbility to climb ladders and stairs 60–125 meters in heightAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50lbsAbility to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for extended periodsWeight restriction of 260lbs, required to ensure safe use of weight‑rated equipmentEmployment ConditionsValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordAbility to obtain and maintain a passportMust pass background check and drug screeningMust be 18 years of age or olderThis is a Safety Sensitive positionAbout Sky Climber RenewablesSky Climber Renewables (SCR) provides specialized field services to the utility-scale wind industry across North America.
