Operations Manager
SUMMARY
Maintain overall responsibility for terminal operations while providing direction to employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage terminal operations, receiving support from and providing direction to employees.
• Operate hot oil heaters, distribution system, steam boiler system, and equipment for manufacturing polymer modified asphalt cement and emulsion products.
• Develop and execute inbound material receiving plans, allocate tank space for different materials, and store packaged materials.
• Create a Quality program at the Terminal, ensuring products meet customer requirements and ISO standards.
• Lead development of an engaged, motivated workforce, effectively managing unionized and non-unionized employees.
• Implement effective inventory management, comply with Ministry of Environment ECA approval requirement, and prepare emergency response plans.
• Assume on-site responsibility for planning and execution of inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment.
• Continuously monitor, assess, and implement proactive actions to ensure business continuity at the Terminal.
• Manage operational spending, identify efficiencies, and drive improvements in key performance indicators and cost reductions.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of terminal based accounting functions.
• Provide input for operating and capex budgets.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Materials Science, or related field.
• A minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing or construction environment.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Strong understanding of liquid processing and equipment.
• Proven leadership skills, ability to organize and prioritize activities.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, JD Edwards, and process software.
