About the role

The Technician- Environmental role offers an exceptional opportunity within our Red Lake Operations (RLO), taking responsibility for monitoring activities in the environmental department to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, as well as with Evolution's Sustainability Performance Standards. This includes neighbouring local and First Nations Communities, government, and non-government agencies. Stakeholder engagement is a large focus of the work, and this position will require a good understanding of current and future plans of the company and an ability to effectively communicate, solicit feedback, and represent the company to relevant stakeholders.

The position will be on an 5/2/4/3 (9.5- hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.

Key result areas in this role include:
• Conduct activities related to various environmental monitoring programs, including:
• Spill response plan
• Tailings environmental inspections
• Surface water and groundwater monitoring
• Air and noise emissions monitoring
• Closure and ARD program monitoring
• Waste management
• Tracking and reporting on field activity
• Communicate with and manage external laboratory services.
• Maintain water quality database and records.
• Work in a healthy work environment with full support, co-operation and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free.
• Comply with federal and provincial acts, regulations, and legal requirements.
• Adhere to all Evolution Mining policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

As the Technician - Environmental, you will need to have a college diploma in an environmental program- or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
• The ability to interpret environmental legislation, provincial acts, and regulations
• Capable of following written procedures with strong attention to detail
• Excellent prioritization and time management abilities and able to adhere to tight timelines
• Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapts well to constant change
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
