The Quality Council of India (QCI) is seeking a Renewable Energy Expert to manage projects focused on clean energy transition and policy advisory. Responsibilities include leading consulting projects, collaborating with government and industry, optimizing processes, and developing reports. The role requires expertise in renewable energy technologies and regulatory compliance. This is a part-time position based in New Delhi, India.
About the Organization

The Quality Council of India (QCI) is a premier autonomous body set up by Government of India. QCI is responsible for creating a Quality Mindset and visions to ensure quality across products and services that touch every citizen. As an independent and autonomous body, QCI creates a mechanism for independent third-party assessments of products, services, and processes, coordinating its activities through its constituent boards and divisions. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, serves as the nodal point for QCI.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Expert to support projects focused on clean energy transition, policy advisory, infrastructure development, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in renewable energy technologies, regulatory compliance, sustainability standards, and quality assessment frameworks. This role involves working closely with government bodies, private sector stakeholders, and international organizations to drive large-scale implementation of renewable energy initiatives, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with global best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership in Consulting Projects

· Lead and manage consulting projects as a Team Leader or integral team member, ensuring quality control, adherence to timelines, and solution implementation aligned with client objectives.

· Drive execution strategies that enhance efficiency, scalability, and impact as per the project requirement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Planning

· Work closely with multidisciplinary internal teams to design and evaluate project strategies, goals, and outcomes.

· Facilitate knowledge-sharing and synergy across various departments to optimize project execution and maximize impact.

Government & Industry Engagement

· Partner with Government bodies, multilateral organizations, and private sector clients to drive policy planning, regulatory compliance, and large-scale implementation of quality assurance programs.

· Act as a key facilitator for stakeholder coordination, project execution, and sectoral development initiatives.

Process Optimization & Best Practices Documentation

· Identify, document, and implement best practices across the project lifecycle to enhance operational quality, efficiency, and scalability.

· Establish robust knowledge management frameworks to ensure continuous improvement in execution models and methodologies.

Reporting & High-Impact Communication

· Develop and deliver comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documents for internal and external stakeholders.

· Ensure clarity, precision, and strategic insights in all client-facing engagements and knowledge dissemination efforts.

Business Development & Strategic Outreach

· Prepare business proposals, advisory reports, and outreach materials that contribute to the organization’s growth, partnerships, and service expansion.

· Leverage industry expertise to identify new opportunities, build strategic relationships, and enhance QCI’s role in quality standardization.
• *Please note that this is a part-time role, and the scope of work for the subject matter expert will vary depending on the project's nature and the type of engagement.

Base Location – New Delhi (may vary as per contract)

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background: Postgraduate degree in Environment Science/Renewable Energy/ Sustainable Energy / MBA in Environment Management or any equivalent qualification, or relevant certifications in the specified sector

Experience: Minimum of 15 Years of relevant experience

Skill and Expertise

· Prior experience in business development, proposal writing, and project strategy formulation

· Prior experience in working with Central and State/UT Government/PSUs

· Should be willing to travel to project sites as needed for assessments, implementation, and monitoring activities

· Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery.
