Job Description

BYD Australia is seeking a Technical Specialist to support its dealers in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. The role involves providing technical advice, resolving customer concerns, and maintaining technical documentation. Candidates should have a Certificate 3 in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. This position is full-time and does not require a degree.

About the Role

Based in BYD's Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, this role will support the Technical Service function of appointed Dealers, providing technical advice and support in the areas of technical, warranty, recalls/rework and customer concern investigation & resolution. Your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:
• Respond to all lodged technical support requests through the appropriate channels.
• Provide onsite/remote vehicle diagnostic supports.
• Customer concern resolution and rework/recall directives.
• Report on field product quality concerns and support field issue investigations.
• Liaise with factory on technical, and field issue in conjunction with Technical & Engineering Manager.
• Create/Validate/maintain technical documentation, service bulletin in conjunction with publication specialist
• Communicate & Broadcast to the dealer network on technical issues resolution and fixes through dealer bulletins and advice.

Key requirements:
• To be considered for the role you will require a Certificate 3 in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent or Automotive Electrician.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in either a customer service or technical support role in the automotive field, preferably with Master or Diagnostic Technician status.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
